Assemblr Pte. Ltd. just launched the new version of Assemblr, an Augmented Reality content-creation platform. This version is now available to download for free in the App Store and Play Store.

In this newest update, Assemblr comes with a fresh and more user-friendly look. This improvement can be seen in the ‘Simple Editor’ feature, which is lighter and performs smoothly compared to the older version’s editor. It also offers an option to insert 3D texts, images, and videos from Youtube to the project. Aside from the editor, the screen orientation has been changed to portrait.

Dwi Asharialdy, the UI & UX Designer of Assemblr revealed that the idea to revamp Assemblr had been going around since last year. “The old version was too resource-heavy due to 3D modelling activity with our basic geometrical building blocks,” he said.

“We received a lot of feedback from our users about what to add in Assemblr. We also looked through Augmented Reality application trends out there. Then we filtered these ideas and built some prototypes that we tested again with our target users.”

Despite this major update, old users do not have to worry as they can still enjoy the old version of the editor. This editor can be accessed in the 'Classic Editor' option. Other distinguished features such as Augmented Reality mode, Explore, and Exclusive Contents are still available as well, but with a more sleek layout.

Hasbi Asyadiq, CEO and founder of Assemblr stated that this update was made to make it easier for general users to create and publish interactive designs using Assemblr. “It’s a huge update since we have been redefining the process of creating a design—an interactive design to be exact. We've noticed that our previous editor was too complicated for most people, so we created a new editor called 'Simple Mode' as an addition to our creation builder option,” he said.

“We are convinced that the creation process has to be very simple, quick and easy. We aimed to make this 'Simple Mode' capable to create an interactive design in less than a minute. We hope this simplified version can help wider users, of course without losing its main functions as a platform for 3D and AR visualization,” Hasbi added.
