When it comes to learning about animals with kids, some of the most interesting creatures to study are whales! These magnificent marine mammals belong to the Order Cetacea, which include all whales, dolphins, and porpoises.
Worldwide, there are more than 80 species of cetaceans divided into two Suborders: Mysticeti and Odontoceti. The Mysticetes include the baleen whales, while the Odontocetes include the toothed whales, dolphins, and porpoises.
Even though they are found in every single ocean on the planet, whales might not be something we encounter everyday. Not to mention that their large size makes it hard to see them in their entirety.
Thankfully, we have added several 3D models of whales in Assemblr. From killer whale, Cuvier's beaked whale, to the long-finned one, these models are available to see using Augmented Reality technology. This means you could view and present them in the comfort of a classroom! It also comes with descriptions, which makes explaining the species feels like a breeze. You can scale, move, and rotate the object so everyone can see it from every angle!
