Explaining abstract concepts in certain materials may require extra effort. Not to forget, you also need to come up with more ideas so that the lesson doesn't bore your students.
Our ACE of the Month from Tunisia, Radwane Bouzaiene, experienced the same struggle too. That, however, was no longer the case after he discovered Assemblr EDU.
Radwane's journey with Assemblr EDU
Radwane has three things in mind about the platform: diverse, flexible, and interactive. Everything built up in it is just perfect, especially the 3D library – it always meets his needs as a geography and history teacher.
"Actually, I found Assemblr EDU by chance in a Twitter post about the longitude and latitude lesson. At that time, I felt like, 'Where was I after all this time? How come I only discovered the platform now!'" he shared. Following up, he found himself getting drawn to it, so he decided to install our platform.
After all, he has been very grateful to finally learn about augmented reality (AR). Besides being a handy tool to create interactive learning, AR also provides fun & good education to encourage his students.
Most importantly, his students also enjoyed learning with AR experiences! With the whole lesson in the tip of their fingers, it feels like they have all the controls. That's what happened when he taught about the solar system lesson on one occasion.
"My students were impressed with Assemblr EDU and they asked me to create a dedicated club! We conducted the activity after hours and they were excited about its flexibility."
Aside from his classroom activities, he also managed to encourage fellow teachers to adopt the platform – mostly for science subjects. "Long story short, the number kept on increasing, and we decided to create several social media groups where we would share our activities," Radwane added.
Stay active, stay motivated
In our eyes, Radwane is one of our active ACE members. He always goes the extra mile to introduce Assemblr EDU; from creating tutorial videos, inviting fellow teachers to join Assemblr Certified Educator (ACE), to even holding webinars. Currently, he's an ACE Wizard – the last level in our program.
"I think ACE is a very great program – I can communicate with colleagues from different regions, learn about their experiences, and share what we have been doing in our classroom with Assemblr EDU. At the same time, I can also contribute to develop the platform and hone my skills."
To date, he has completed six webinars with approximately 50 to 140 attendances for Middle Eastern & North African teachers. Although some of them lasted for four hours, all the participants stuck through to the end. "It's not something strange, I think. From what I see, they were all struck and in-awe with the platform," Radwane continued.
In the end, one thing that he's extremely grateful for is the support from the people behind the platform. They play a huge role to help him stay motivated.
"I will always keep going on and continue what I have done; I want to help everyone who needs this platform and solve their problems as long as I can."
Despite having a packed schedule, Radwane is always progressing – both in our community and his daily activities. What are his tips to stay motivated?
"I think it's important to stay curious and have a mindset like, 'What can I do to deliver lessons focusing on the 20th-century skills?'. Then, I keep up with everything new in the platform too, so I can figure out how to make my learning activities much more enjoyable and interactive. Since I'm an ACE, I also try to learn from my fellow teachers' experiences, and if possible, collaborating with them is worth trying!" he shared.
